Description of the Product

The raven has been a recurring element in human myths and legends throughout the time. It was a sacred animal to the North Germanic tribes, and early Celts believed that the raven was a messenger of the Otherworld. The most famous sacred ravens were perhaps Hugin (Thought) and Munin (Memory), who were the faithful companions of the Norse god Odin.

This pendant is made after a raven shaped calf wrap hook found in a Viking settlement in Chernigov, Ukraine. The original hook dates to the 10th century. An almost identical model in the shape of a raven has also been found in Gotland, Sweden.

This raven pendant is plated with real silver.
