Description of the Product
This sword has been made with the regulations and needs of HMB (Historical Medieval Battle), MCS (Medieval Combat Sport), Buhurt and other Battle of the Nations -type heavy full contact combat sports in mind. Made to withstand extremely hard use.
Falchions were single edged and shorter than classical one handed medieval swords. As the weight remained the same Falchions were able to deal devastating cutting and slashing blows. The shortness and toughness made Falchions excellent close combat weapons normally used by regular infantry as a secondary weapon. The men-at-arms and knights soon found out the power of this weapon and Falchions were used throughout the army. This medieval weapon was revived during renaissance and hence Falchions were used for a very long time from about 1200 all the way to 16th Century.
Built to withstand heavy use by martial artists, reenactors and stage performers. Forged of 51CrV4 carbon steel, and tempered to around HRC 50-52. The edges and points are thick and rounded for better nick resistance and safety. This sword is crafted using same methods as original historical pieces with riveted pommel and the stout beechwood grip is covered with leather. Made by Victor Berbekucz.
When training with weapons made of steel it's important to use proper protections and maintain the condition of all items. Exercise proper safety precautions and control at all times to avoid injuries.
