Description of the Product

This black and yellow shield is decorated with eagle motif. Eagles were common symbols in medieval times. These kings of the sky are majestic and powerful animals and thus excellent symbols for any knight or ruler to choose as his/her own.

The shield is most likely the first man made defensive artifact, and thus the history of shield use goes well beyond written history. Shields have been made of wood, leather, twined of twigs, all possible metals, even of turtle shells.

This gorgeous shield can be used by a small warrior to guard against spears as well as fierce sword blows, meaning that the medical corps are not in such a high demand at all times on the battlefields.

I have ordered this shield together with a sword for my three and a half year old son after reading a lot of knight stories together, and he is now nicknamed himself the Eagle of Gorjanovićeva, which is our street or castle 🙂 It is a great looking shield and it arrived in the kingdom of Croatia in only four days and I can wholeheartedly recommed the IrongateArmory!

  Super impressed! I'll admit I'm no historian, but the cloak I purchased was both fashionable and practical!
