Full Horse Tail

Using whole horse's tail, you can make spectacular decorations for example on top of your helmet, but this tail works great also for fluffing up and lengthening the tail of your show or competition horse. To attach this false tail, braid your horses tail for a short length and hung this false tail from the braids using the loop at the top end of the false tail. This horse tail extension is made of real horse tail hairs so it naturally looks natural on a horse as an tail extension. Authentic horse hair is versatile material suitable to many different uses and projects.

For centuries horsehair has been used to make fine art, jewellery, violin strings, brushes, belts and other beautiful objects. It has been woven into clothing at least as far back as the Bronze age Celts. Horse hair is slow to absorb moisture, so it stays relatively warm even in wet conditions. It is durable, and longer fishing lines were achieved by braiding the hairs together. As a readily available material it is still used as a natural stuffing in chairs. For authenticity, as well as its superior qualities, it can still be used for example in helmet padding and naturally on top of the helmet as traditional decoration.

These horse hairs come from Mongolia, land with more horses than men. Because of the vast open spaces in Mongolia these horses can live in natural pastures, freely much the same as wild horses.
