Description of the Product

Sauron was a Maia, a lesser spirit sent to aid the higher spirits (Valar) on Arda, much like Gandalf, Saruman and Radagast, and the Balrogs were. Sauron had originally worked with Aulë as s smith, but his thirst for power and control was such that instead he joined Morgoth, the greatest of all the Ainur. After Morgoth’s banishment at the end of the First Age Sauron, his servant and heir, stepped in and continued the corruption of anyone willing to listen, using numerous guises. He deceived the Elves and as they forged the Rings of Power, in secret he created the One Ring to rule them all, becoming the Lord of the Rings.

At the end of the Second Age Sauron’s forces faced the Last Alliance of Elves and Men, rallied by Gil-galad, the Elven-king, and Elendil, the King of the Númenoreans. After a long siege of Barad-dûr Sauron finally left his fortress and emerged on to the battlefield wearing the source of all his power, The One Ring. With the shard of Narsil Isildur managed cut off the One Ring from Sauron’s hand, marking the end of the Second Age. Given the chance, Isildur however failed to destroy the One Ring once and for all, and he took it as an heirloom. The Ring was soon lost in the Disaster of the Gladden Fields, and passed from memory into legend, until eventually it was found by Gollum. His Preciousss abandoned Gollum, and the Ring was found by the most unlikely creature, Bilbo Baggins of the Shire.
