The Colt Python and Colt Peacemaker have been considered the most amazing revolvers Colt has ever made, and some industry experts have even named the Pythons the best serial production revolvers ever made. Production of the Python began in 1955 and it was discontinued in 1999. However, the Colt Custom Gun Shop continued to manufacture the weapon until 2005 in limited quantities.

The Colt Python was a particularly powerful handgun that used a .357 Magnum cartridge. This powerful weapon was sometimes also called the “Combat Magnum”.

Colt Python is such a classic weapon that it can be found in many games, movies and TV series, such as the Resident Evil, Grand Theft Auto and Half Life game series and the Walking Dead TV series.

This gun is available in four different barrel lengths: 2 ”, 4”, 6 ”and 8” models. The 6” version was a typical model for uniformed officers in America and the most commonly sold version in general. The 4 ”version was a typical weapon for civilian clothed officers. The 8 ”was designed mainly for hunting and the shortest 2” snubnosed revolver was the easiest to hide and carry concealed.
