Description of the Product
The hilt of Pirate Captain's Hanger is made of beautiful antiqued brass. The fully tempered high carbon steel blade is worth its salt against any seabeast or while swarming the side of a galley. This wide backed sword could be used outside of battle too, in cutting ropes, sails or wood. A short sword made combats in restricted spaces, such as below the deck, possible. European piracy saw its heyday from the 16th to the 18th centuries, as empires hired mercenaries to attack the ships and colonies of other empires. The battle for the colonies was bloody, and no trick was left unused in the battle for hegemony in western Africa, the Caribbean or in the Indian Ocean. Siisti kokonaisuus. Miekka sekä huotra on hyvin viimeistelty ja oikein hyvän näköinen. Antikoitu kahva ja väisti on upea. Tasapaino ok, ei tunnu esim. etupainoiselta vaan melko kevyeltä. Huotran sisältä irtoaa jotain pölyä säilän pintaan, varsinkin ihan alussa mutta kopistelemalla ja käytön myötä sotku väheni. Teräprofiili on ihan ok tylppänä versiona, tosin aika tasapaksu. Teroitin omani ja lopputulos oli varsin mainio. Kaiken kaikkiaan hintaan nähden varsin oiva ostos.
