Thin Viking Belt

Description of the Product

The Borre-style buckle and strap end on this Viking belt are based on originals from a ship burial find from Gokstad in Norway, which dates to around 900CE.

The narrow 1,5 cm wide Viking belt is made of solid brown vegetable tanned cowhide leather that is 2,5 to 3,2 mm thick. The belt buckle is made of high quality broze, and fastened to the leather with a rivet plate in a Viking age fashion. The matching bronze strap end, as well as the two embossed linesa long the edges give the belt an attractive and finished look. The length of the belt allows it to be worn knotted over the buckle, with the end tail hanging down from the waist.

The belt is 150 cm long, and with the premade holes it fits a circumference of about 85 - 103 cm. Due to its length, the belt is perfect for many wearers, but the circumference can be easily reduced or enlarged with a hole punch. The velvet-matt waxed leather develops a natural patina over time that is characteristic of genuine, vegetable-tanned leather.
