Description of the Product
High quality wide brimmed hat made of black felted 100% wool that keeps the shape well. Flexible and soft wool insulates well and even keeps rain out of your hair. Wool naturally repels dirt and is therefore easy to clean.
The flat shape makes this hat suit most heads. Will fit perfectly anyone with a small, medium or even a large head size but if you have a very large head size, then this hat is too small and the hat doesn't sit very deep in the head. However, felted wool can be shaped and stretched if the size is not appropriate. The wool material should stretch out and fit your head size with no problems. Soak the hat in water (there is no need to soak the whole hat, only the part you want to stretch and just a little around it) and let dry while stretched – you can even use your own head if you don't have a suitable hat block or even a ball nearby. As the hat dries, the felted wool settles to its new size.

For me (Male) with a 60cm head size it was nice and snug, not too tight. With this hat as its base, I created a beautifull decked out tricorn to go with my pirate captain outfit for Castlefest.

The hat material was thicker than expected and it is of excellent quality and it only took about 2 weeks for it to arrive (I’m in Australia). The fit is slightly loose for me (female) but great for my adult grandson who will be wearing it as part of a muskateer costume – we only need to add a feather. 🙂
