Leather Arm Guard with Embossed Thor’s Hammer
Description of the Product
The mightiest warriors in history are frequently depicted with some form of arm guard. The materials have ranged from leather to bronze, to iron reinforced leather and to steel. Heavy grade leather has been a popular material in armory throughout the times as it gives excellent protection against slashes as well as against crushing blows.
We're bringing you these beautiful arm guards made of 3mm thick heavy grade leather. Though thick, they are easy and comfortable to wear all day long. Good for a large variety of outfits, from Viking raider to fantasy outfits. These arm guards are designed mainly for historical reenactment, to be worn over clothing and/or padding. They are sufficient for soft fencing, and as a light protection in wood and steel fencing to provide just enough surface protection from a glancing blow. And as they are sold individually, these arm guards are also great for archers.
The arm guard is decorated with an embossing of Thor's hammer, Mjölnir. In Norse mythology Thor was the god of choice for free peasants and warriors. In mythology the dwarfs Brokkr and Sindri forged Mjölnir as the most fearsome weapon that never missed its mark. It was capable of toppling giants and destroying mountains with a single blow.
