The Beretta 92 is a series of semi-automatic double-action pistols based on the German Walther P38 pistol. Production of the original Beretta 92 began in 1975 and several different versions of the weapon have been developed since then. Pistols in this series are still being manufactured.

This pistol is a replica of the best known 92 series 92F version. In the civilian market, this pistol is known as the 92F, but in military use, for example as a U.S. military service pistol, it is called the M9.

The U.S. military took this pistol as a service pistol in 1985 and named it M9. The French army introduced this pistol as PAMAS G1. In France, the first troops received their Beretta in 1989, and eventually Beretta became the service pistol of the entire army and navy in 1999.

This semi-automatic 9mm pistol is easy to disassemble, maintain and all parts are interchangeable. The weapon is effective up to a distance of 50m and the magazine can hold 15 bullets in two rows as standard.
