Description of the Product

The hilt of Pirate Captain's Hanger is made of beautiful antiqued brass. The fully tempered high carbon steel blade is worth its salt against any seabeast or while swarming the side of a galley. This wide backed sword could be used outside of battle too, in cutting ropes, sails or wood. A short sword made combats in restricted spaces, such as below the deck, possible. European piracy saw its heyday from the 16th to the 18th centuries, as empires hired mercenaries to attack the ships and colonies of other empires. The battle for the colonies was bloody, and no trick was left unused in the battle for hegemony in western Africa, the Caribbean or in the Indian Ocean. Your pirate captain’s costume is incomplete without this hanger. Scabbard is included.
