Breathable and stylish, this historical shirt design is useful for a variety of different ensembles. This versatile shirt can be worn by both men and women. This shirt has a stand up collar and drawstrings on the front. The sleeves are wide and puffed up and finish gathered at the cuff. The pleats at both the front and at the back, as well as at the sleeves, increase its appeal.
The cuffs can be raised easily above elbows during those hot summer days or when working on the docks to avoid dirtying the shirt.
As a simple and unadorned shirt this is excellent choice for many characters from the end of the medieval times till 19th century. Also excellent as a period undershirt with vests, doublets and coats. Stand up collars were introduced to shirts in mid 1400's and different styles and sizes of collars have been seen during these centuries since the Renaissance with this fashion still going on strong. Varying versions of this classical stand up collar -look are still in use today.
