Description of the Product
Seax (also known as sax, sæx, sex or sachsum) is the Old English word for "knife." In modern archeology, the term seax is specifically used to designate a type of short sword or large dagger typical of the Germanic Peoples of the period of migration and of the early Middle Ages, especially the Saxons, whose name probably derived from this weapon.
This Seax has a long blade decorated with runic alphabet letters. The Vikings believed that the runes possessed magical power and often enrolled them in the leaves to increase their power.
Copied from one on display at the British Museum. Leather-wrapped handle gives you a firm grip on this surprisingly light and quick weapon. Comes with a brown leather scabbard with two back-belt hanging straps.
