Description of the Product
The sickle is a harvesting tool that dates back to the Stone Age. Its use is believed to have played a key role in the development of agriculture around 10 000–13 000 years ago. The sickle made grain harvesting more efficient, significantly accelerating the development of early agriculture.
The earliest sickles featured serrated edges and were made from a wooden handle set with pieces of flint. As metalworking advanced, sickles were crafted from bronze and later iron. Throughout history, the sickle has remained a practical and dependable tool, still in use today.
This small sickle is made to be used. It is 100% handmade item and each item will have it's unique small differences from other pieces. The overall look, feel and size however is the same for each piece. Comes with a leather sheath/case, in which the sickle can be conveniently and safely carried.
