Description of the Product
This Steel Skull Cap is a fully battle-ready replica of a medieval, visorless helmet. During tournaments these kind of helmets were often worn underneath a great helm or a simple cloth head dress. During close combat or "normal" battle the great helmets were often discarded as they impeded sight and breathing and were very hot. Thus the steel skull cap often provided the only protection, but allowed for best possible vision.
Made from 2 mm (1/13”) steel, the two helmet halves are welded together. At the sides and rear there are holes for easy attachement of an aventail. This is an inexpensive battle-ready helmet for beginners. The helmet includes high-quality, adjustable leather inlay with chin strap.
Size S up to 59 cm, size M up to 61 cm and size L suitable for head circumference up to 64 cm.

The quality is good. But as the other review mentioned the sizing is very large. My head is about 59cm and the small sized helmet fits well. However if one’s head was much smaller I don’t think it’d fit well without a padded or mail coif underneath.

Processing and delivery of the helmet was excellent; nice, quick, and transparent all the way through.
The helmet itself, though as I expected in terms of quality in metal, which is good, was very oversized for me. I was looking for a cervelliere to fit snug on top of light padding, and to go underneath a maille coif. I unfortunately found the size description misleading – that it would fit 63cm heads – because it was 73 cm in circumference. I thought – wrongly – that it meant that the helmet would just be a few cms more than 63cm.
But, I ordered another one in size S, after emailing about the size. that should hopefully fit better, because it seems very durable for combat, which I need.
The leather fittings are not necessarily as depicted, but servicable. I can just switch those myself if I need to.
All in all, very happy with ease of purchase, delivery and sturdiness of the product, but wish the measurements were more accurate to the actual dimensions of the product.

Tilaus saapui nopeasti ja kypärässä ei mitään vikaa. Mitat olivat tarkat ja sopi minunkin isoon kaaliini. Heti ensimmäisenä emäntä testasi kypärää allekirjoittaneen päässä (luvan kanssa) kookkaalla puukalikalla ja pääni on vieläkin ehjä, joten kestävyys on testattu. Nahkaremmissä olisin ehkä toivonut enemmän reikiä, mutta näitä toki helppo tehdä itse. Kaupan päälle kypärä oli valmiiksi öljytty! Hintakaan ei ollut paha.
