Viking Belt in Birka Style

Description of the Product

The buckle on this Viking belt is based on a find from the Viking town of Birka on the isle of Björkö, and it dates to the 9th - 10th century. The original of this Borre-style belt buckle is in the Swedish Historical Museum in Stockholm.

The 2 cm wide Viking belt is made of solid brown cowhide leather that is 3 to 3.5 mm thick. The brass-coloured belt buckle is made of zinc alloy. Two embossed lines along the edges give the 2 cm wide an attractive and finished look. The generous length allows the belt to be worn knotted over the buckle, with the end tail hanging down from the waist.

The belt is 165 cm long, and with the premade holes it fits a circumference of about 92 - 107 cm. Due to its generous length, the belt is perfect for most wearers, but the circumference can be easily reduced or enlarged with a hole punch.
This belt is suitable for all sizes, but it can be easily shortened if needed. If the long belt feels way too long for a small person or on a child, you can just cut a piece off from the end using regular scissors, no special tools needed.
