Description of the Product

This detailed replica of a Celtic ring was made according to a historical model of the so-called La Tène period (450 BC- 1 BC.) The La Tène period was a later Iron Age period centered on ancient Gaul regions. Nowadays Gaul encompasses present-day France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, and parts of Switzerland, Germany and Northern Italy.

Wide finger rings of this kind were typical for the La Tène Iron Age period. The rings of the Celts were often provided with representations of faces or masks, and they had beaded or spiral decorations. The original Celtic ring is now in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

The ring is open, similarly to most rings from the Iron Age and Viking Age. This opening allows the Celtic ring to adapt to a ring diameter of 17 to 21 mm. The Celtic ring is made from high quality bronze, and it can be worn as a perfect accessory for historical reenactment, LARP costumes or as everyday jewelry.
