Description of the Product

Barbute is a type of salade and was prevalent on the 14th and 15th centuries in northern Italy, but was also worn throughout Europe. Barbute gives good protection for the whole head, face and cheeks of the wearer but thanks to the T-shaped opening it doesn’t impair vision or breathing.

This helmet is authentic replica of the Avant Armour -helmet, displayed in Kelvingrove Museum, Glasgow. Avant Armour is the oldest near-complete armour survived to date and is dated approx. 1440. Similar helmet is also displayed at the Royal Armories, Leeds.
Includes a comfortable, high-quality, adjustable padded liner and sturdy leather chin strap with brass buckle. Manufactured of 2 mm (1/13”) steel. Weight approx. 2.9 kg (6lbs 6oz)

Available in sizes M and L
Size M is suitable for head circumference up to 61 cm (24”). Front to back approx. 22.5 cm (8.9”) and from ear to ear approx. 19 cm (7.5”).
Size L is suitable for head circumference up to 64 cm (25.2”). Front to back approx. 23.5 cm (9.25”) and from ear to ear approx. 20 cm (7.9”).
