Description of the Product
During Scandinavian Iron Age a good sturdy knife was something everybody carried with them every day, whether working at the home farm, in the woods, on a journey or feasting. A good knife was part of the everyday dress for men and women alike. Brass decoration on your knife wasn't just reserved for the wealthiest, it wasn't luxury as we might think of it nowadays, but still something the poorest of the society wouldn't spend their money on. This puukko-knife has been left fairly undecorated, and is limited to the fittings on the handle, and the sheath is completely unadorned. This makes it ideal for those who do not wish to show off their wealth all around the village, or who have no wealth to show.
This is a good utility knife for all Vikings and other Iron Age Northern European people. This larger size is goof for chores, crafting but also self-defense when needed, but still without being too cumbersome. Several knives in this style have been found for example in heart of the Viking world Birka and Gotland. The durable and sturdy blade is hand forged out of 1095 Carbon Steel and the brown leather sheath has a leather strap for easy carrying. The knife has a brass ring at the end, so if you want to, you can for example attach a separate leather strap to it to use as a wrist strap.
This large Iron Age puukko-knife is a nice sturdy everyday tool, made to be used. This is a 100% handmade item and each item will have its unique small differences from other pieces. The overall look, feel and size however are the same for each piece.

Kahvan perässä on turhan oloinen rinkula, ilmeisesti hihnan kiinnitystä varten. Itse olisin pärjännyt ilmankin.
