Description of the Product
Since 1943 these Kukris have been made by one government contractor; Windlass Steelcrafts. This piece is original, official military issue! Hand forged from high carbon steel. A must for outdoor activities that require chopping and cutting, from gardening to camping.
Used with devastating effectiveness by the famous Nepalese Gurkhas in the Siege of Delhi in 1857, in the trenches of WWI France, throughout the New Guinea jungle in WWII, and with distinction in the Falkland Islands. Takes a good, sharp edge. Scale tang. The contoured handle is made of authentic buffalo horn. Brass knob and reinforcement. Genuine military issue to the officers in the Gurkha Regiments in India. This officer's Kukri is slightly smaller than the regimental version. The Gurkha officers kukri comes with the official sheath and two accessory knives. There might be slight variation in the size and blade shape of these small accessory knives. The other accessory knife has traditionally been left blunt, to be used for example as a fire steel, and the other one is sharper, to be used for example in skinning, eating or other small tasks.

Kukrin terä oli teroitettu ihan liian suureen kulmaan että sillä sai mitään leikattua ja molemmat pikkuveitset olivat tylsiä kuin voiveitsi, joten sellaisenaan en ollut kovinkaan tyytyväinen. Liekö ollut maanantaikappale.

Tilasin ensiksi Gurkha Kukrin mutta veitsi oli aivan liian suuri. Päätin sitten tilata Upseerin version ja tuote on ollut erittäin hyvä. Sopivan kokoinen ja painoinen, kehtaa vielä ottaa mukaan pidemmällekin vaellukselle. Tuote vaati hieman työtä jotta siihen sai kunnon terän, mutta vaiva palkittiin. Kukri ei välttämättä korvaa kirvestä täydellisesti mutta puut saa pilkottua vallan mainiosti, ja pienemmällä terällä saa mukavasti veisteltyä vaikka paistinlastan. Toinen pieni tylsä “veitsi” on kätevä yleistyökalu. Pysyy suhteellisen hyvin terävänä mutta vaatii silti rakkautta suuren käytön jälkeen. Kahva ja terä pysynyt myös täysin kunnossa vaikka kukria onkin käytetty suhteellisen rankasti. Ainoa miinus tuotteella on se että terä istuu tuppeen hieman heikosti. Terä ei lennä ulos vaikka pomppii mutta heiluu kyllä hieman ja ei pysy tupessa jos sen kääntää väärinpäin. Pienet veitset pysyvät taaskin tupessa ilman ongelmaa. Erittäin tyytyväinen Kukriin.
