Viking Arm Ring “Dragon”

Description of the Product

During Viking age, powerful chieftains gave armrings to their followers to secure their allegiances. Giving such an expensive gift was seen as a demonstration of wealth and power, and the warrior who accepted the gift pledged his loyalty to the chieftain through doing so. Armrings might have been gifted also in the wedding ceremonies. These customs have given armrings their other name, "Oath Ring". Wearing armrings were also a way of carrying your ‘money’, since they were often made from expensive metals bronze, silver or even gold.

This armring is based on a historical bracelet from Gotland, Sweden.  It is made of bronze and decorated with two dragons.
