Description of the Product
This Viking style fixed blade knife is heavily influenced by traditional Nordic knives. Its main features are its simple beauty and great performance. In Finland this type of knife is called “puukko”. A traditional Finnish puukko knife has been in use through centuries, carried on the belt and used when fishing, hunting, building, eating or preparing food, in combat, and as the most important survival tool when entering the wilderness. As an all-purpose tool puukko has countless uses but it is exceptionally well suited for carving wood. Puukko knife is still used in Finland, as well as the other Nordic countries, as an everyday tool and the model has remained the same since the beginning of medieval times.
This puukko has a stainless steel blade made of high-grade resistant X46Cr13 stainless steel, tempered to 52 HRC. It has the famous Scandinavian bevel for a sharp edge. It has a solid brass guard that provides protection, but does not hinder its use in the field. The handle is made of bone and sheesham, or Indian rosewood, a hardwood from northern India. The subtle contouring on the handle is very comfortable and feels like an extension of your hand.
The knife comes with a simply decorated leather holster with a belt loop. The loop accommodates a belt width of max 5 cm. The knife comes in a cardboard box with synthetic fur lining.
