Description of the Product

A Main Gauche, or a parrying dagger, was typically used with rapiers, as the dagger allowed for the parrying of enemy thrusts and enabled dangerous counterattacks in the midst of battle. The Munich Town Watch dagger is a parrying dagger for the left hand and is meant to be used together with our Munich Town Watch sword (sold separately). Thanks to its size it is a fine weapon in itself and could be used as a secondary weapon for many situations.

The dagger has two fullers with decorative holes running the entire length of the ricasso. This ornamental device makes the Munich Town Watch dagger exciting and lighter at the same time. The grip is made of wood and elaborately wrapped with steel wire and has decorative braided wire at both ends. A riveted pommel shaped like a flattened ball completes the hilt of this Munich Town Watch dagger. It comes with a matching scabbard made of leather. The original dagger is from around 1600. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts.

Weight 0.614 kg (1.3 lbs), total length 48.5 cm (19”), blade length 33.5 cm (13”), blade width 3.2 cm (1.25”).
