About Flintlock Pistols and Muskets
In this category you can find all the flintlock muskets and pistols.
Muskets are muzzle-loaded long guns. The earliest forms were developed as early as the 14th century. However they became more widely used and popular in the middle of the 16th century, and were used all the way to the 19th century. Soldiers that were armed with a musket were commonly called musketeers.
Flintlock pistols are muzzle-loaded and are fired using the flint-striking ignition mechanism, aka flintlock, just like the muskets. Flintlock pistols were used all the way until the mid 19th century, when newer percussion cap technology made them outdated.
