Description of the Product
The musket, though the prime weapon of the French Musketeers, was a cumbersome firearm, both to load and fire. A good rapier was a necessary second weapon. Our Musketeer rapier is fashioned after those circa 1590.
The basket hilt is ambidextrous and a very effective mix of both the cup-hilt and swept-hilt styles. The grip is wood wrapped with twisted wire and the parts of the hilt are plated with gleaming nickel silver. In honor of Alexander Dumas and the timeless characters from his beloved novel, the hilt has been etched with a French style cross, often associated with the Musketeers.

Vähän nyt ensin arvelutti hinta-laatusuhde: painavahko, vähän robustin puoleinen kokonaisuus. Kahva helisi, ja väisti oli ihan vinossa. Mietin jo palautusta, mutta väisti oikeni ihan kevyesti käsin vääntämällä. Heräsi toki kysymys etä mitä metallia tuo on kun vääntyy aika pehmeästi… Kokonaisuus perussiisti Windlass, kahvan/kupin sisällä hiukkasen ehkä viimeistelyn tarvetta, joku siellä painaa sormeen. Ei pahasti kuitenkaan, ja luulen että korjaaminen ei iso vaiva jos haluaa silotella yms. Kahvan saa purettua hyvin helposti, threaded tang & pommel, koko hoito menee palasiksi ilman työkaluja. Vähän liiankin helposti…? Saapuessa kahva oli tosiaan vähän löysällä ja helisi, mutta hyvin kiristyi pommelia vääntämällä. Huotra varsin ok, sinisen sävy miellyttää omaa silmää ja laatu ihan virheetöntä. Windlassille ominainen jauho/pölykin puuttui tyystin 🙂 Tuomio? Ihan hyvä tämä on. Seuraavaksi sitten vaan teroittamaan.
