Description of the Product
Millions have grown up with J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings since the 1950โs. The classic epic is considered by many to be the greatest fantasy tale ever told. The story is one of the struggle between good and evil, but also of the role small ordinary folk can play in changing the world. The book trilogy was named the most popular book of the 20th Century, and Peter Jacksons feature film trilogy has won awards, as well as a legendary status of its own, since coming out in 2001-2003. The Hobbit is a prequel to the Lord of the Rings, the book having been published in 1937, and the movie trilogy having come out 2012-2014. The movies brought Middle-earth to life in stunning and faithful detail, giving that world an unimaginable authenticity, which is a major part of why the movies are still so beloved. We are thrilled to be able to bring you the swords and other weapons from these films. They may not be forged by high elves in Gondolin, or Weta Workshop in New Zealand, but they are officially licensed and meticulously crafted by United Cutlery, so that you too can own a piece of the magic.
Once created by the Dark Lord Sauron, Uruk-hai were the largest and strongest breed of orcs, spreading fear and terror throughout Middle-earth. The Wizard Saruman took things further and bred a huge army in the pits beneath the towerย Orthanc for his own use,ย to use in theย War of the Ringย against the Free Peoples of Middle-earth. The result was a fiercer, new breed of Uruk. Unlike the orcs of Moria, the Uruk-hai of Saruman were able to move also in daylight, and they wore the mark of Saruman, a white hand, instead of the red eye of Sauron.
Also forged in the underground pits of Isengard, the falchion was a deadlyย weaponย for the Uruks, who used them against the Fellowship at Amon Hen, as well as in the Battle of Helm's Deep, where Sarumanโs army was eventually annihilated. As a very rudimentary sword with a menacing back-spike, there is really only a certain type of fighting style that their falchions are suited to, hacking. The back spike is excellent against a foe on horseback, as the spike can be used to pull them off their saddle.
This authentically detailed collectible is an officially licensed reproduction of the actual filming prop used in theย The Lord of the Ringsย trilogy. United Cutlery has meticulously recreated the prop sword using the finest grade materials and craftmanship. Close attention to detail was a top priority. This sword features an approx. 63 cm long high carbon steel blade and a leather-wrapped wooden handle over the full tang construction. The sword comes with a wooden wall display plaque with the symbol of theย White Hand. A certificate of authenticity is included.
